What the coastal dashboard shows
For a selected coastal point, the dashboard resolves an appropriate NOAA tide-prediction station and identifies its name and distance. Nearby measured water temperature is shown only when the station is close enough to be meaningfully described as local.
Satellite sea-surface analysis may provide broader offshore context, but nearshore, river, harbor, and marina water can differ. The dashboard labels that distinction rather than presenting satellite analysis as a dockside sensor.

Predicted tide is not storm surge
Astronomical tide predictions do not include every weather-driven water-level effect. Storm surge, wave action, river flow, wind setup, and local drainage can change observed conditions.
